Capital Study Club
The Capital Study Club in Baton Rouge is a local affiliate of the Seattle Study Club, dedicated to advancing dental professionals' knowledge and skills through collaborative learning and continuing education. Led by Dr. Richard Akin, he organizes regular meetings featuring expert speakers and interactive sessions to promote excellence in clinical dentistry. Xavier Mission is an independent, non-profit organization in New York City dedicated to serving individuals facing challenges such as hunger, homelessness, and poverty. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is a charitable organization founded in 1833 by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam in France. Inspired by the works of Saint Vincent de Paul, the organization is dedicated to helping the poor, vulnerable, and those in need through direct aid, social services, and community programs. Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus (KOC) is a global Catholic fraternal organization founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut. Pankey Institute
The Pankey Institute is the only non-profit comprehensive postgraduate dental education center in the U.S. It is unique in its focus on comprehensive, relationship-based dentistry. Located in Key Biscayne, Florida, the institute offers advanced training in occlusion, complex restorative dentistry, and practice management, with an emphasis on balancing technical excellence with personal and professional fulfillment. Dr. Akin has been affiliated with the Pankey Institute for almost 15 years, taught the dental implant component of the Essential 3 program for 10 years, and will be speaking at the Pankey Symposium in September 2025.
